About Elephanta Caves

Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an example of mediaeval Indian rock-cut art and architecture. Gharapurichi Leni, commonly known as the Elephanta Caves, are located on Elephanta Island in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The rock-cut Elephanta Caves were built during the mid-5th and 6th century AD. The design of these caves illustrates the perfect blend of Dravidian and Nagara Hindu architectural traditions. The best time to visit these caves are between October and March, when the weather is mild and the sky is quite clear.

By Air
